Purpleheart - Single Side Resin In-Lay

Also known as Amaranth, Purpleheart is a curly grained extremely hard wood (about twice as hard as Red Oak) that takes on an eggplant purple color when expose to air, but will dull to a brown from UV exposure. The wood is extremely durable but due to it's hardness and density requires slow work to properly shape and maintain it's natural appeal.

Purpleheart paddles are typically thuddy due to their density and hardness, however, can be made stingy by removing material to allow swifter blows while maintaining the piece's heavy balance. It is recommended these pieces be sealed with a UV-resistant/filtering coating to help maintain the wood's natural beauty.

This is a commission piece. 

There will be a 2 - 3 week production time, depending on existing backlog and complexity of your request. Excessive embellishments (such as near total in-fill or through-wood features) may increase the price due to large complexity and/or consumables and time. All commission pieces will be reviewed with the buyer prior to production and the production time starts once the buyer has approved the design.

Due to the unique nature of commission pieces, refunds are not generally available unless there has been a production issue or error. Refunds will not be issued if there are problems with design after design has been approved. Refund may be issued during design process if the buyer is not pleased or no longer wishes to proceed.
